Here at BPL, we believe poetry is important because it uniquely captures and communicates human emotions, experiences, and perspectives, fostering empathy, reflection, and cultural heritage. Join us as we celebrate National Poetry Month this April!

On the afternoon of April 8, 2024, a solar eclipse will be observed from much of Ontario, including Barrie and surrounding areas. This exciting global event will certainly be on everyone’s mind at the beginning of April and we’re here to help at the library.  

The Barrie Public Library is delighted to share that the 20th annual Barrie Dragon Boat Festival hosted by the Barrie Public Library and presented by Tim Hortons is set for Saturday, August 17, 2024!   

We encourage everyone to take measures to raise awareness about people with Autism Spectrum Disorder throughout the world. It was designated by the United Nations General Assembly resolution.
